Itinerary Overview

This 9-day Vietnam journey begins in Hanoi with a street food experience and city tour including the Ho Chi Minh Complex, Temple of Literature, and the Old Quarter. The itinerary continues with a scenic cruise in Ha Long Bay with activities such as kayaking, sightseeing, and cave visits. After returning to Hanoi, travelers fly to Central Vietnam to explore Hoi An Ancient Town and the historic My Son Sanctuary. The journey then continues to Ho Chi Minh City for a city tour including the Reunification Palace, War Remnants Museum, and Ben Thanh Market. Detailed Itinerary

DAY 1: Arrival in Hanoi & Street Food Tour

Upon arrival at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, you will be met by your guide and driver and transferred to your hotel in the city center.

In the afternoon, join a guided street food tour through the Old Quarter, where you will explore the lively streets and discover some of Hanoi’s most famous local dishes.

During the tour, you will taste traditional Vietnamese specialties such as Banh Cuon (steamed rice rolls), Bun Cha (grilled pork with rice noodles), refreshing Hoa Qua Dam (mixed fruit dessert), and the famous Vietnamese egg coffee made with egg yolk, condensed milk, sugar, and strong Robusta coffee.

The evening continues with a visit to Ta Hien Street, often called the “Beer Corner” of the Old Quarter, where locals and travelers gather to enjoy the vibrant nightlife atmosphere.

After the tour, your guide will accompany you back to the hotel.

Overnight in Hanoi.

DAY 2: Hanoi City Tour

After breakfast, your guide will meet you at the hotel to begin a full day exploring the highlights of Hanoi, Vietnam’s historic capital.

The tour starts with a visit to the Ho Chi Minh Complex, where you will see the Presidential Palace, Ho Chi Minh’s traditional House-on-Stilts, and the famous One Pillar Pagoda. You will also view the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum from the outside.

Next, visit the Temple of Literature, originally built in 1070 as a temple dedicated to Confucius and later recognized as Vietnam’s first national university. The site reflects the long-standing importance of education in Vietnamese culture.

After lunch at a local restaurant, continue the tour with a visit to Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple, located on a small island connected by the iconic red The Huc Bridge.

You will then enjoy a cyclo ride through the Old Quarter, passing through the famous “36 streets,” each historically associated with different crafts and trades.

Before returning to the hotel, attend a traditional water puppet show at Thang Long Theatre, a unique Vietnamese art form that dates back centuries.

DAY 3: Hanoi – Ha Long Bay Cruise

After breakfast, depart Hanoi for the scenic drive to Ha Long Bay, a journey that takes approximately three hours. Ha Long Bay is one of Vietnam’s most famous natural landmarks and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its dramatic seascape of limestone islands rising from emerald waters.

Upon arrival at the harbor, you will board your cruise ship and begin sailing through the spectacular bay. A welcome lunch will be served on board as the boat passes by thousands of islands and rock formations scattered across the water.

In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to participate in various activities offered by the cruise, such as kayaking, swimming, sightseeing, or visiting one of the famous caves in the bay, depending on the cruise itinerary.

Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the bay in the evening while the boat anchors among the limestone formations.

DAY 4: Ha Long Bay – Flight to Da Nang – Transfer to Hoi An

Wake up early to enjoy the peaceful morning atmosphere of Ha Long Bay. Start the day with breakfast on board while admiring the beautiful limestone formations rising from the sea.

After breakfast, the cruise continues deeper into the bay before returning toward the harbor. A brunch will be served on board as the boat sails back to port.

Upon arrival at the harbor, your driver will transfer you back to Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi for your flight to Da Nang.

After landing, you will be met by your driver and transferred to your hotel in Hoi An, a charming historic town on Vietnam’s central coast.

DAY 5: Hoi An Ancient Town & My Son Sanctuary

After breakfast, your guide and driver will meet you at the hotel for a day exploring Hoi An Ancient Town, one of Vietnam’s most charming and historic destinations.

During the walking tour, you will visit traditional merchant houses, the famous Japanese Covered Bridge built more than 400 years ago, and Phuc Kien Pagoda, an important cultural and religious site for the local community. The tour also includes a stop at the colorful riverside market, where local vendors sell fresh produce and regional specialties.

Lunch will be served at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, travel to My Son Sanctuary, once the spiritual center of the ancient Champa Kingdom, which dominated much of central Vietnam for centuries. The archaeological site features remarkable red-brick towers and temples built between the 7th and 13th centuries, surrounded by lush jungle landscapes.

After the visit, return to Hoi An.

DAY 6: Hoi An – Flight to Ho Chi Minh City

After breakfast, enjoy a free morning in Hoi An. You may take time to explore the charming streets of the ancient town, visit local cafés and shops, or relax on the nearby beaches along the central Vietnamese coast.

In the afternoon, your driver will pick you up and transfer you to Da Nang International Airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh City.

Upon arrival at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, you will be met by your driver and transferred to your hotel in the city center. Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon, is Vietnam’s largest and most dynamic metropolis.

DAY 7: Ho Chi Minh City Highlights & Historical Landmarks

After breakfast, your guide and driver will meet you at the hotel to begin a full-day tour exploring the highlights of Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon.

The tour begins at the historic Reunification Palace, the former residence of the President of South Vietnam until the end of the Vietnam War in 1975.

You will then visit several notable French colonial landmarks, including the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Central Post Office, two of the most recognizable architectural icons of the city.

The tour continues through Chinatown (Cho Lon) with a visit to Thien Hau Pagoda, dedicated to the Goddess of the Sea, followed by time to explore Binh Tay Market, a lively marketplace selling a wide variety of goods.

After lunch at a local restaurant, visit the War Remnants Museum, where exhibits and historical artifacts provide insight into the Vietnam War and its impact on the country.

The day concludes with a stop at the famous Ben Thanh Market, one of the city's most vibrant shopping areas.

DAY 8: Mekong Delta Experience

After breakfast, around 08:00 your guide will meet you at the hotel and depart for the Mekong Delta, one of the most fertile and culturally rich regions of Vietnam. The area is famous for its vast network of rivers, canals, and floating communities.

Upon arrival, board a boat for a relaxing cruise along one of the Mekong River branches. During the journey, you will visit several local workshops, including a brick factory, a coconut processing workshop, and a traditional mat-weaving house, where you can observe how local products are made.

The boat will then stop at a quiet village where you can take a short walk to experience everyday life in the delta and enjoy a bicycle ride through lush coconut plantations.

Lunch will be served at a local restaurant before continuing the journey to Can Tho, considered the heart of the Mekong Delta region.

Upon arrival, check in to the hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure.

DAY 9: Cai Rang Floating Market & Departure

Early in the morning, take a boat trip to Cai Rang Floating Market, one of the largest and most vibrant floating markets in the Mekong Delta. Here you will see local traders selling fruits, vegetables, and other goods directly from their boats while daily life unfolds along the canals.

During the excursion, you will also visit a rice husking mill and a rice noodle workshop, offering insight into traditional local production and everyday life in the delta communities. Breakfast is typically served during the boat trip at a local home.

After returning, you will have some free time at leisure before preparing for departure.

In the afternoon, your driver and guide will transfer you to Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City for your onward flight.
